Just a recycled crocodile yesterday, but I dreamt about it at night. The morning wipes away this memory and sets us on our way to Trotover, where completely different animals live.
Even among my friends in Lusaka, “Trotover” is still an insider tip. You have to drive along Leopards Hill Road for a longer time, take off at the right turn and carry on driving when the asphalt ends and the so-called “dirt road” begins. At the final end, you find a small paradise or horse center in the middle of a beautiful forest. It is an oasis with around 100 horses. I am in love with this place and just petting the horses makes me happy. But the other two are experienced riders and gladly book one hour of riding.
I find it hard to tear myself away, but we have arranged to meet for a late lunch at a very special hotel. As soon as we enter the lobby of the Latitude 15 Degrees, it is clear that this hotel is home to a great collection of contemporary African art. Diverse and exclusive. With or without a business meeting one can have a meal on the terrace or in the lounge.
We stay longer than expected. It’s our last evening together in Lusaka, and we also want to experience the live band that plays by the pool after sunset.
